3. - A motion was made to suspend the rules to allow an award from
Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) be presented to
Ms. Martin recognizing her for her longevity on the Lowell School

6.1. 2015 / 415 - [by Connie Martin]: Requesting that the Administration provide a report on
the number of Lowell Public Schools Teachers who live outside the district
but have enrolled their children in the Lowell Public Schools.
A motion was made to suspend the rules so item # 2015/415 and item # 2015/425 could be discussed
together. The motion passed. Another motion was made to refer motion item # 2015/415 and motion
item # 2015/425 to the Policy Subcommittee for further discussion. The motion passed.

perform a review of our school assignment process to ensure that the
district is in compliance with existing policies and include a plan to reassign

furnish the committee a report on the number of out of district students
placed in Lowell Public Schools, namely those whose parents work in
district and are non-residents and if found out of compliance with the
policies of the district, facilitate a plan for compliance.
A motion was made to suspend the rules so item # 2015/415 and item # 2015/425 could be discussed
together. The motion passed. Another motion was made to refer motion item # 2015/415 and motion
item # 2015/425 to the Policy Subcommittee for further discussion. The motion passed.

10. 2015 / 404 - Personnel Report
Superintendent Khelfaoui shared the Personnel Report that he received from Michael Cassidy, Director
of Human Resources. The report officially informs the Committee of all retirements, resignations,
promotions and new hires.
The report was accepted as a report of progress.

Superintendent Khelfaoui spoke to the Committee about the Strategic Plan and gave them an update on
several actions that have taken place.
