LUCK GOLF COURSE COMMISSION MEETING Tuesday, August 6, 2024 @ 5:00pm Luck Golf Course 1520 So. Shore Dr. Luck, WI 54853 MINUTES a. Call to Order- Mike Broten (5:30pm), Bruce Anderson, Ron Steen, Jeff Anderson and Mike McMahon- all here b. Motion by J. Anderson/McMahon to approve the agenda, all in favor- aye, carried. c. Motion by J. Anderson/McMahon to approve Minutes from 7/8/2024, all in favor- aye, carried. d. Appearance by Visitors-Lori Stevens- sales are going well, bar picking up, estimated July 20% is $9,300.00 Chuck Torrance- need to set annual meeting, outside comments, election of officers Dick Kohls and All Schommer (upstairs)- training, hire, pay, expand hours, breakfast on Saturday and Sundays next year, advertisement, last day August 31 st last day for Butternut Bar and Grill e. Commissioners Open Discussion- Steen- do what is best for the Village and Golf Course, 5-10 plan J. Anderson- siding, window delivered tomorrow, down stairs door f. Kevin’s Retirement Party- September 28th, 2024: Country Club- Drinks Golf Course- Food Village- $100.00 towards food g. Motion by B. Anderson/Steen to approve paying LT Construction ½ the bid amount of $19,525.00, all in favor- J. Anderson abstains, aye, carried. h. Discussion and no action on hole #14 issues- going forward with drainage work with drop zones. i. Motion by McMahon/B. Anderson (any excess funds would exclusively go to the upgrades to the Campground) to re-do drainage on hole #9 green with the funds coming from $10,000.00 in donations pending donors’ approval, $11,000.00 from savings, $9,000 from 2024 20% sales from Country Club, Funds from Timber Sale, all in favor (3 aye- McMahon, B. Anderson, Broten: 2 nay- J. Anderson, Steen), carried. j. Motion by B. Anderson/McMahon to table the Carn Barn, all in favor- aye, carried. k. Motion by J. Anderson/B. Anderson to approve the Timber Sale Bid from Park Falls Hardwoods for $13,539.90 and recommend to the Finance Board, all in favor- aye, carried. 4 Bids came in: Park Falls Hardwoods- $13,539.90 North West Hardwoods- $9,950.00 WI Hardwoods- $9,067.00 D’Jock Forest Products- $8,510.00 l. Motion by J. Anderson/Steen to look into getting an Electrician/Electrical Engineer to come out and look at the Electrical at the Clubhouse, all in favor- aye, carried. m. Golf Course Finance Committee Discussion- be creative with pricing, more cash, faster Village payment -see more information from McMahon’s attachment n. Financial Update- Cash $129,822.70 Donations $12,598.00 3 Year Memberships $359,614.55 ECI $64,462.00 ($25,000.00 after building is completed) o. Discussion of the 2025 Budget- Marcus, Tim and Kevin will meet p. Clubhouse Manager Report- concert, Ladies Inv 8/14, Club Championship end of the month, morning start times, one-some’s q. Golf Course Maintenance Update- stumps done, practice green done, 8 & 14 irrigation done, Japanese Beetle treatment, Shade Tree hit building r. Motion by B. Anderson/J. Anderson to approve the July 2024 vouchers, all in favor- aye, carried. s. Set Next Meeting Date- September 10, 2024 @ 5pm t.
