THE CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH, FLORIDA PUBLIC NOTICE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AGENDA SETTING MEETING The Board of Commissioners of the City of Madeira Beach, Florida will meet at City Hall, located at 300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach, Florida to discuss the agenda items of City Business listed at the time indicated below. 5:30 P.M. TUESDAY, JULY 8, 2014 AUDITORIUM CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESENT: Travis Palladeno, Mayor Nancy Hodges, Vice-Mayor Terry Lister, Commissioner District 1 Elaine Poe, Commissioner District 3 Pat Shontz, Commissioner District 4 STAFF PRESENT: Shane Crawford, City Manager (CM) Thomas Trask, City Attorney (CA) Aimee Servedio, City Clerk (CC) Vince Tenaglia, Finance Director (FD) STAFF ABSENT: Dave Marsicano, Central Services Director (CSD) 1. TOPICS: AGENDA SETTING FOR BOC WORKSHOP JULY 222014 2:00 P.M. CM: Unless any of you have any topics, the only thing we would want to add to the workshop is that four (4) employees have opted to take the buyout. Tom Gonzales will come next week to go over the employee buyouts and what that would entail. Those who want to leave can take their leave in possibly the next two to three paychecks. Mayor Palladeno: Asked about a City Hall update. CM: We just did that last meeting. Tonight's Regular Meeting has a lengthy agenda tonight; we could use a week off for staff to catch up on all the projects currently underway. Mayor Palladeno: Do we have an estimate on when Gulf Blvd. is completed. BOC Age nda Setting M eeting 07/08/2014 CM: Tomorrow they're really going to get started. It's supposed to be a 90 day total depending on the weather. Mayor Palladeno: It's a resurfacing project? CM: No, they are finishing the curbs and redoing the medians. We will be taking over the project. They didn't want to resurface the road for the City to tear it up for undergrounding in the next 18 months. Commissioner Shontz: Will we get some greenery in the medians? CM: They will be letting us design and have some greenery, he's hoping to get some palm trees but FOOT will have to approve. Bob Espesido will be available to go over this with the City. There was also complaint about the left turn by the Hess that FOOT has yet to respond. If the contractor has to be told, then it's going to be left how it is today. Asked Commissioner Poe to go by and let the citizen that complained that it will be modified. Commissioner Poe: Also had a citizen complaint on the first floor at one with those lights, they are blinking in their apartments. Mayor Palladeno: New LED lights aim directly at traffic and are lowered. CM: They are going to be improved but not moved, they have to be there. 2. ADJOURNMENT Any person who decides to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need a record of the proceedings and for such purposes may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
