THE CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH, FLORIDA PUBLIC NOTICE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AGENDA SETTING MEETING The Board of Commissioners of the City of Madeira Beach, Florida will meet at City Hall, located at 300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach, Florida to discuss the agenda items of City Business listed at the time indicated below. 5:30 P.M. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2014 AUDITORIUM CALL TO ORDER-The meeting was called to order at 5:34 p.m. ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESNT: Travis Palladeno, Mayor Nancy Hodges, Vice-Mayor Terry Lister, Commissioner District 1 Elaine Poe, Commissioner District 3 Pat Shontz, Commissioner District 4 STAFF PRESENT: Shane Crawford, City Manager (CM) Thomas Trask, City Attorney (CA) Aimee Servedio, City Clerk (CC) Vince Tenaglia, Finance Director (FD) Dave Marsicano, Central Services Director (CSD) AGENDA SETTING- FOR BOC WORKSHOP -OCTOBER 28, 2014 1. TOPICS: A. UPDATE ON THE DEBT ISSUE FOR THE UNDERGROUNDING PROJECT City Manager, Shane B. Crawford, Finance Director, Vincent Tenaglia CM: This list is not all inclusive, let us know if there is anything the Board would like to add. There has been a lot of progress on the project; this is an update on the financing side. B. UPDATE ON FOOT, SWFWMD GULF BLVD BEAUTIFICATION GRANTS City Manager, Shane B. Crawford CM: Good news there, one grant has been landed and the City is currently pursuing another. C. DISCUSSION ON THE STOMWATER SCHEDULE AND CORRESPONDING FINANCING PLAN Finance Director, Vincent Tenaglia 10/14/2014 BOC Agenda Setting Meeting  Al Carrier, Deuel and Associates CM: This is an item because of the SWFWMD grant we've received. We do have a 5-7 year road planned for how we will spend the City's and the matching grant money. The FD and I will run you through it. D. DISCUSSION ON POTENTIAL MODIFICATIONS TO FANTASY PLANET BUILDING AS PROPOSED BY CURRENT TENNANT City Manager, Shane B. Crawford CM: The City was propositioned by our tenant on some improvements to the building he would like to make such as a food serving window. In this item we will go over the lease and explain what our and their obligations are in this matter. E. DISCUSSION ON AMENDMENT TO FLUTTER SIGN ORDINANCE City Manager, Shane B. Crawford CM: This is a simple item, we want to increase the number of permitted signs in the ordinance and discuss the relating resolution on how to proceed. F. CITY-WIDE PROJECT UPDATE-REQUESTED BY MAYOR PALLADENO City Manager, Shane B. Crawford CM: This it e was requested by the Mayor - a lot of things going on in the City, this is just a general update. G. PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING MADEIRA BEACH AS THE FIRST BITCOIN CITY IN THE WORLD City Manager, Shane B. Crawford Misty Wells, City of Madeira Beach Event Promoter CM: Bitcoin bought the Beef O'Brady's bowl which is a college bowl game that takes place at Tropicana field. This is an idea in the making, if this works out, ESPN and other major networks would be able to come to Madeira Beach for their related events. The CM will learn all he can about Bitcoin to better inform the Board. H. DISCUSSION FOR RECONSIDERATION OF THE SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ISLAND OF BIMINI AS REQUESTED BY THE BAHAMIAN GOVERNMENT City Manager, Shane B. Crawford CM: Bimini is on their knees and wants to rekindle that relationship. Now that there are event people, there may be a better chance to work together.
