THE CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH, FLORIDA PUBLIC NOTICE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING The Board of Commissioners of the City of Madeira Beach, Florida will meet at City Hall, located at 300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach, Florida to discuss the agenda items of City Business listed at the time indicated below. 2:00PM FEBRUARY 13TH, 2015 AUDITORIUM A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES - None E. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA A motion to approve the agenda was made by Commissioner Poe and seconded by Commissioner Shontz. CM: Noted that Commissioner Terry Lister called ahead to let the CM know that he would be arriving to the meeting late due to a prior commitment. PUBLIC COMMENT (limited to 3 minutes) - None G. CONSENT AGENDA - None H. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None 1 BOC Special Meeting - 02/13/2015 I. NEW BUSINESS 1. ORDINANCE 2015-03 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH, FLORIDA RELATING TO MEDICAL MARIJUANA; AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 110, "ZONING"; PROVIDING DEFINITIONS; PROVIDING THAT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES ARE A PERMITTED SPECIAL EXCEPTION USE IN THE C-3 ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING ADDITIONAL STANDARDS AND CONSIDERATIONS FOR APPROVAL OF A SPECIAL EXCEPTION APPLICATION FOR A MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A motion to approve Ordinance 2015-03 was made by Commissioner Poe and seconded by Vice- Mayor Hodges. CM: This ordinance has been researched and worked on by Commissioner Poe. It establishes regulations of where medical marijuana dispensaries can be zoned in anticipation for a future legalization of medical marijuana. The ordinance puts regulations in ahead of the state. Note: Commissioner Terry Lister arrived during the discussion but before the vote on Ordinance 2015-03. The motion was restated to the Commissioner prior to the vote.
