AUTHORIZATION OF REQUEST TO ADD NEW POSITION AN AUTHORIZATION TO RESTRUCTURE STAFF ADMINISTRATION BY CREATING A FULL-TIME POSITION FOR COMMUNITY POLICING AND CODE ENFORCEMENT. A motion to authorize the City Manager to create a new position for the Code Enforcement Department was made by Commissioner Shontz and seconded by Commissioner Lister. REPORTS/CORRESPONDENCE • CITY COMMISSION Vice-Mayor Poe: Explained that on Tuesday, July 21, there was a Community Policing Meeting attended by the City deputies and a few additional deputies from the County. She was disappointed with the turnout and wants to ensure that more is being done to attract residents to these meetings. She is working with the deputies and they are planning another meeting around November. • CITY ATTORNEY CA: Updated the Board on the BP Litigation proceedings. The City should receive the BP settlement for the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill by August 27, 2015. • CITY MANAGER - None • CITY CLERK - None K.
