City Council

City Council Meeting Monday, February 8, 2016 7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote. Those in attendance were; Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and John Nelson and Larry Schickling. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve the agenda. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and John Nelson and Larry Schickling, motion was approved. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve the minutes of the January 25, 2016 City Council Meeting. . Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and John Nelson and Larry Schickling, motion was approved. A Motion was made by Dave Whitney and seconded by Larry Schickling to approve the bills as listed. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and John Nelson and Larry Schickling, motion was approved. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve the 2016 Contract Agreement between the City of Madelia and Weiss Consulting LLC, Karl Weiss: Golf Course Ground Superintendent. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and John Nelson and Larry Schickling, motion was approved. The matter of relocating the Madelia Liquor Store came before the Council; the City had sent out Request for Proposals. This matter was tabled until the next regular scheduled Council meeting. The City Administrator was instructed to get quotes for repairs to the coolers and present at the next Council Meeting. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve the removal of the tree in front of Suds Ur Duds, located at 123 West Main Street. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and John Nelson and Larry Schickling, motion was approved. The City Administrator was instructed to contact the business owners who still have trees in front of their businesses to see if they would like them removed also. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Dave Whitney to adjourn the meeting. . Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and John Nelson and Larry Schickling, motion was approved.
