City Council Meeting Monday, October 11, 2021 – Fire Hall Basement The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote. Those in attendance were Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Andrew Gappa and Glen Christensen (via Phone). Dave Whitney was absent Others presented were Chris Fischer, Chief Prescher, Derrick VanHee and Kathy Guyer. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve the Consent Items with one addition to the agenda. A Motion was made by Glen Christensen and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve Convergint Technologies quote in the amount of $61,342.14 for the security system in the new government center. This system was designed by Chief Prescher and Jeff Tetzloff (IT Watonwan County). This is the same company that handles the Watonwan County Buildings. This system was designed to integrate with the County system. Example would be the camera system would be viewable by Watonwan County. The Entry of the Police Station is a safe room. The County would be able to activate the locks on the doors to secure the person within the hallway till an officer arrived. The system was looked at in phases but the cost of phasing it was more costly than proceeding with everything right away.
