City Council Meeting Monday, June 26, 2023 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cody Eager. Those in attendance were Cody Eager, Andy Gappa, Mark Slater, Phyllis Schickling and Glen Christensen. This is a donation from the Madelia Fire Relief Association for a 2022 Can-am Defender in the amount of $18,443.50, purchased on June 14, 2022. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes, Phyllis Schickling-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Mark Slater to approve Resolution 2023-13, A Resolution Accepting a Donation to the City of Madelia. This is a donation from the Madelia Fire Relief Association for a new kitchen in the new Government Center in the amount of $28,586.96. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes, Phyllis Schickling-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve the live music request from Trinity church, 406 Main Street W on August 30 th, 2023 from 7p.m. to 10p.m. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes, Phyllis Schickling-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Glen Christensen and seconded by Phyllis Schickling to approve removing Officer Tran from probationary period of new hire. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes, Phyllis Schickling- Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve curb cut request from Jalyn Woratschka at 15 2nd Street NW contingent of replacing the other curb cut back to curb. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes, Phyllis Schickling-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Mark Slater and seconded by Phyllis Schickling to adjourn the meeting.
