City Council Meeting Monday, June 12, 2023 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cody Eager. Those in attendance were Cody Eager, Andy Gappa, Mark Slater, Phyllis Schickling and Glen Christensen. Officer Shawn Odegaard Oath was administered by Mayor Cody Eager. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve scheduling an EDA meeting for June 26th, 2023 at 6:00p.m. to discuss the proposal for City owned property. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. Phyllis Schickling abstained. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve Juneteenth holiday for the staff starting on June 19th, 2023. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. Phyllis Schickling abstained. A Motion was made by Mark Slater and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve amending subordination for Pietsch Companies and United Prairie Bank. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. Phyllis Schickling abstained. Citizen communication. Nick Hruby attended the Council meeting and presented a grant writer option for possible future grants. The cost would be $600-$1000 for this individual to help write a grant for the Madelia Fire Department. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Mark Slater and seconded by Andy Gappa to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen-Yes, Phyllis Schickling-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved.
