A Arts Board Meeting was held on Tuesday, October 03, 2023 at 7:00 PM at City Hall -
Executive Conference Room, 300 W. 13 Mile Rd.

MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Madison High School Student Alianna Dorsey Introduces herself to the group.
REPORTS
2. Treasurer Report: Trail Tunes Account: $7,821.58 Trail of Treats: $242.82 Arts board
Accounts $3,516.89. Total Trail Tunes Expenses for 2023 $9,250
3. Social Media Report: Social Media Reach of 31,000 impressions running ads 1k people
visited arts board Pages. The increase was due to heavy Trail Tunes Posts.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
4. Trail Tunes Recap (Bliss, Dombrowski, Palazzolo, Covert, Mordarski)
Bliss mentioned that the group hasn’t found the right date for 2024 yet. Investigating
all options that will not interfere with other area events and the weather will be good.
The event was generally well received. The biggest challenge moving forward is how
do we take it into the next level.. All vendors would like to come back next year. The
Taco truck was really good. The spacing of the bands will be discussed in the follow up
meeting. Every Band mentioned that they want to come back next year. Another change
for next year is that checks will be given to the bands the day of the event.
5. Trail of Treats (Geralds, McBride, Theodoroff)
Geralds mentioned that she has been in contact with multiple groups who expressed interest
in participating. Rohrbach mentioned that we can use Eventbrite to use sign up for this year
trail of treats. The event date is October 21st with the Rain Date October 22nd. Food Pantry
will be there.
6. Statewide Independent Living Council proposal for inclusive art in Madison Heights
(Rohrbach, Mcbride, Dombrowski, Geralds, Nagle)
McBride gave an update and mentioned that Madison Heights is hosting something next
year regardless of MISILC Participation. No updates to provide.
7. Grants:
1. Band Stand Grant, Consumers Energy Foundation (Dombrowski, Palazzolo,
Theodoroff, Geralds, Bliss, )
The grant has been submitted and we are waiting to hear back.
8. Gala (Geralds, Bliss, Dombrowski, Mordarski, Nagle) - November 17, 2023

Nagle mentioned that there is not much of an update to be had. We are planning to post
the event on social media by the end of the week. She encouraged the group to Ask for
additional donations. Staff Liaison Owczarzak will look to see if the City has an
Eventbrite account. Will ask IT to create an Arts Board email account to use for events.
9. Civic Center Complex Renovation - Art Installation Project (Bliss, McBride, Nagle,
Covert)
Covert mentioned to the group that the comments at the Civic Center Grand opening
were positive beyond belief. Residents Liked the placement through City Hall and the
Library
10. Broadway Karaoke Dance Party (Bliss, Chair-Nagle, Mordarski)
Nagle gave an update: She mentioned that the subcommittee will meet to lock in the
details. Multiple members of the Arts Board mentioned ideas that they would like to be
incorporated into the event.
