A Human Relations and Equity Committee Meeting was held on Thursday, July 07, 2022 at
6:00 PM at Library - Breckenridge Room, 240 W. 13 Mile Rd.
CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m.

Approval of the minutes of June 9, 2022.
Motion made by Alternate Wright, Seconded by Chambliss.

MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
None present wishing to speak.
REPORTS
2. Advise & Educate
1 01-24-22
Advise & Educate - goal met in May by increasing community engagement about
Mental Health Awareness.
3. Communications
Team building goal met - May 2022.
358 Facebook page likes currently as of July 7, 2022. Goal is 500 by December 2022.
4. FUNdraising
Cook Book fundraiser - aiming for December 2022.
Collaborative fundraiser plant sale/book sale slated for September 18, 2022.
Possible ice cream social event planning still in the works.
5. Volunteers & Collaboration
First Diverse Voices Book Club occurred on June 30, 2022. Most copies of the ten
copies available of the book were checked out, and 4 people attended. We had a great
discussion and are planning a monthly book club for the rest of the year.
July title "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

6. Newsletter
Commissioner Q. Wright made a motion to table this topic until Commissioner
Szymanski is able to attend and speak on the newsletter. Seconded by Commissioner
Quackenbush.
