Follow Up:
TCC applications update:
There were no pending TCC applications in the Historic Districts.
Sign and Façade applications:
There were no Sign and Façade applications submitted for review.
For Action:
83 Pomeroy Road Application:
Steven Majewski, Architect for owners of the Cox residence at 83 Pomeroy Road, which
is listed on the Master Plan Inventory, showed preliminary renovation plans. The plans
include enclosure of the front vestibule and enclosure of a rear porch, which would have
no impact on the streetscape. MHPC comments and suggestions included:
• A taller front door, aligned with the windows;
• Elimination of the transom above the front door;
• Reduce the heaviness of the portico overhang by elimination of the double
triangle in the trim.
The record will reflect that MHPC has reviewed the plans and given comments to enable
the architect and owner to proceed with the project. Mr. Majewski will send feedback to
MHPC on the final outcome.
7 Waverly Place Repair Application:
Owner John Dalena will make repairs from recent storm damage, which was shown in
photographs. He proposes using horizontal vinyl siding and imitation cedar shakes.
MHPC would be in favor of the repairs as proposed on the condition that the façade
underneath the siding is maintained.
57 Ridgedale Avenue – Letter of Concurrence:
The applicant has incorporated into the plans all recommendations of MHPC set forth at
previous meetings and has met all conditions. There was an oral representation at
previous meetings that MHPC’s comments had been addressed.
The plans dated September 12, 2012, were revised in accordance with MHPC’s
comments and presented to the Zoning Board. The revised plans incorporated all
comments that were discussed at the September 11, 2012, meeting.
It was moved that the plans be approved and confirming letter be sent to the Planning
Board. The motion was seconded and those voting in favor of the motion were Mr.
Poeter, Ms. Napurano, Mr. Toto, Mr. Forte and Ms. Foster. Mr. Solu, Ms. Marcy and
Mr. VanRyzin were recused.
It was further noted that MHPC is strongly in support of efforts by property owners, such
as this application, to make renovations that recognize the property is located in a
Historic District and that the renovations preserve the streetscape and also preserves some
part of the original building.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
Laurie C. Hagerich, Recording Secretary
