There were no new Sign and Façade applications.
For Action:
Develop 2015 Annual Report Action Items:
Mr. VanRyzin is working on the report and asked for suggestions on content. Several
highlights of the year to be included were:
“Going, Going, Gone” poster bringing attention to demolitions would make a
good cover for the report;
HPC had little or no power to prevent the loss of many historic buildings;
A major highlight would be the collaboration of the Mayor, Borough Council and
Engineer working with the Friends of Bottle Hill Historic District in the
Ridgedale Avenue road project and in saving the sidewalk blue stone.
Although some of the goals of the Friends of BHHD were not met, such as lower
speed limit and less truck traffic, there were other issues that were addressed by
the Borough, such as use of Gray color on sidewalks at crosswalks, 4 additional
pedestrian crosswalks, upgraded curbing on many of the side streets.
Mr. VanRyzin will continue to work on the Annual Report and have a draft ready for the
January meeting.
For Discussion:
There was discussion of persons who might be interesting in serving on the Commission
to replace members whose terms are ending. Mr. Solu will give the Mayor a list of
possible new appointments.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
Laurie Hagerich, Recording Secretary
