Minutes of the Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Advisory Committee (Committee) March 11, 2020 Members Present: Melissa Honohan, Astri Baillie, George Limbach, Christine Boyle, Joan Maccari, Deb Mantone, Lisa Ellis, Claire Whitcomb, Chris Kellogg, Ross Snyder Guests: Angelica Diggs, Tom Salacki, Deborah Farrar Starker Opening Remarks Ms. Honohan called the meeting to order at approximately 7:30pm and started with introduction of the Committee’s members and guests in attendance. Minutes Ms. Honohan then presented the minutes for approval to the Committee. There being no comments, the minutes were duly moved and approved. Application Review – Museum of Early Trades and Crafts (METC) Ms. Honohan then turned the Committee’s attention to the application submitted by METC. Ms. Starker, Executive Director of METC and Ms. Diggs, Assistant Director of Operations of METC, presented on the application. Discussion ensued regarding the application. A motion to approve the METC’s application for $71,502 was duly made and approved with one member abstaining due to his position on METC’s Board of Trustees. Ms. Starker and Ms. Diggs then exited the meeting. Special Presentation by Mr. Salacki, Madison Parks Committee Ms. Honohan then turned the Committee’s attention to Mr. Salacki who provided the Committee with a presentation on the Borough of Madison’s park spaces with a holistic view to reviewing and improving the park system. Upon completion of the presentation, Mr. Salacki exited the meeting. National Trails Day, Saturday June 6, 2020 Ms. Honohan then turned to Ms. Baillie regarding the upcoming National Trails Day and whether any the planning of potential events. Discussion ensued among the Committee. Update Regarding Masonic Temple, Morris County Historic Preservation Trust Fund Ms. Honohan then provided an update to the Committee regarding the Masonic Temple, indicating that a letter of intent was provided to the County of Morris and the process is moving forward. Adjournment of Meeting and Executive Session A motion was duly made and approved to adjourn the meeting and commence an Executive Session. Respectively submitted, Christine S. Boyle Secretary
