Sustainable Madison Meeting Minutes September 27, 2016 Present: Stephan Stocker and Amy Terracciano Discussion: Item one – Sustainable Jersey has not answered our submission yet. Stephan will email results when received. Depending on results, and if allowed by Sustainable Jersey, discussion of resubmission by November 9, 2016 will prompt a special meeting to resolve any issues. Item two – Madison Borough formed Sustainable Madison to enroll Madison in the Sustainable Jersey program and to complete SJ’s Actions to receive points toward certification. At present, we are a Silver Certified Borough. At this time, we completed actions in 14 main categories. We are responsible for the timely updating of all those actions and will have to divvy up the categories amongst ourselves to insure not repeating the massive effort of this year. We need to draft a calendar that lays out the various expiration dates of these actions as some are non-expiring, some are yearend expiring and others range from two and a half years through ten years before they come due. At this time, Mr. Stocker asks everyone to start thinking about what categories they wish to command and how to map out a five-year calendar. Item three – A shipment of 200+ plants will be coming in shortly. They are for the wooded area at the Madison Recreation Complex. Monies for these plants come from Sustainable Jersey’s small grants program. Everyone is invited to a Saturday or Sunday in October to help put the plants in the ground. Item four - Bottle Hill Day is this Saturday, October 1, 2016. It is scheduled to run from 9am – 6pm. Help with staffing the MEC/SM booth will be greatly appreciated. Let Mr. Stocker know when you can be available to help .
