Sustainable Madison Minutes May 14, 2019 Chairperson, Kathleen Caccavale, called the meeting to order at 1:01 pm. STATEMENT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT: “In compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, adequate notice of this meeting of the Sustainable Madison Advisory Committee Meeting was provided by transmitting a copy of the meeting notice to the Madison Eagle and Morris County Daily Record, posting a copy on the bulletin board at the main entrance of the Hartley Dodge Memorial, and filing a copy in the office of the Clerk. This notice was made available to members of the general public.” The following members acknowledged their presence: Kathleen Caccavale, Chairperson Gene Cracovia, Resident/Regular Member Peter Fried, Resident/Regular Member Joan Maccari, MEC Representative/Regular Member Lisa Jordan, Resident/Regular Member Marilyn Musielski, Resident/Regular Member Guest Charlie Xu also attended this meeting. April 16 minutes were unanimously approved. All of Madison’s 2019 action items were summarized on the SJ (Sustainable Jersey) dashboard; the required number of mandatory, priority, and total points needed for silver certification are in process. Tracking sheet actions and assignments were reviewed. Each member listed which of their items would be planned, complete, etc. in time for the application deadline. Reminder that all actions must be submitted by June 2. The next meeting of Sustainable Madison Advisory Committee (SMAC) will be June 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Reminder that 6 meetings per year are required by ordinance. It was agreed that perhaps 2 of our meetings this year could be held in the evening.
