MANISTEE CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 The Manistee City Council met in a study session on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers, 70 Maple Street, Manistee, Michigan 49660. MEMBERS PRESENT: David Bachman, Lynda Beaton, Cindy Lundberg, Jermaine Sullivan, Michael Szymanski, James Grabowski, and Erin Martin Pontiac MEMBERS ABSENT: None ALSO PRESENT: City Manager, Department Directors, Public, and Media CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – Department of Public Works Director Jeff Mikula and Engineer of Record Shawn Middleton updated Council on 2022 City construction projects. Discussion included: • Water tank upgrades and painting • Quincy and Cleveland Streets • Maple Street Bridge • Riverbank erosion/Riverwalk repairs • Marina dock replacement • Roofing • DWAM Grant • 12th Street • Memorial Drive • RDIIA Conveyance • RDIIB Clean Water Recovery Facility • 5th Avenue area flood mitigation • S. Lakeshore Drive improvements • Fire Hall OTHER Grabowski spoke about the Bird Scooter program, a blight issue on 12th Street, Marina restroom maintenance, and employee wages. Beaton reported great progress by the NRBC’s recent volunteer work session.
