MEETING MINUTES
January 24,2001
A regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Area P.
G.
E Commission was held on January 24, 2001 at
6: m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 70 maple Street, Manistee, Michigan.

MEMBERS PRESENT: M. Carlson, F.Balcer, J. Mencarelli, M. Tillotson, L. Sprague, K.Lewis
MEMBERS ABSENT: J. Ball
OTHERS PRESENT: Tex Collins,
The meeting was brought to order at approximately 6: m. by Mencarelli. Mencarelli turned the meeting

over to Scrimger for election of officers.
Balcer nominated Mencarelli for the position of president. There being no other nominations, Mencarelli
was accepted unanirnously as president.
Tillotson nominated Sprague for the position of vice president. There being no other nominations, Sprague
was accepted unanimously as vice president.
After a short discussion, it was decided to reactivate the position of secretary-treasurer. Carlson nominated
Tillotson for secretary-treasurer. There being no other nominations, Tillotson was accepted unanimously
as secretary-treasurer.
Channel update - The possibility of putting pictures on the scroll was discussed. Mark Carlson is looking
into the possibility of getting local pictures.
Mencarelli announced that the letter of resolution of cooperation has been approved by the school board and
city council. Superintendent Raddatz has suggested ha.ving a studio in the new high school.
Mencarelli suggested spending up to $
100 to build a tape storage rack at the broadcast site. This idea was
unanimously approved.
Lewis suggested purchasing a quantity of S-
VHS tapes not ta exceed $500. This was unanimously
approved.
Lewis suggested having a training time for the public every month. Carlson suggested doing this
immediately after the PEG meeting.
The date of the next meeting was set as February 28, 2001.
Mr. Tex Collins addressed the commission on a number of issues.
