MANISTEE AREA PEG COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES January 22,2003 A regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Area PEG Commission was held on January 22, 2003 at 6: m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 70 Maple Street, Manistee, Michigan. 00 p. MEMBERS PRESENT: J. Mencarelli, K. Lewis, J. Ball„M. Tillotson, N. Leslie MEMBERS ABSENT: M.Carlson OTHERS PRESENT: S. Scrimger, T. Collins There was a motion by Ba11, seconded by Tillotson to accept the minutes of the December 18, 2002 meeting. Motion was passed 5- 0. Mencarelli introduced Nita Leslie as a new P.G.E Commission member. Ms. Leslie was named by the Filer Township Board and will fill the seat vacated by frank Balcer. Ball nominated Mencarelli as Chairperson, nomination was seconded by Leslie. 5- 0 chairperson, nomination was seconded by Tillotson. Ball nominated Tillotson as Vice- Aye 5, Nay 0 Lewis nominated Leslie as Secretary-Treasurer, Leslie declined. Tillotson nominated Lewis as Secretary - Treasurer, nomination was seconded by Ba11. Aye 5,Nay 0 Tilotson read a report from Carlson. There was a discussion about continuing Mr. Carlson in his current capacity at channel 2. The general feeling was that it is beneficial to continue Mark, likely till the end of the budget year in July. During the discussion on an operating contract and P.G., E MA.PS interface, it was decided the commission would benefit from an opportunity to focus on these issues. A work session will be held Thursday, February 6 at 6pm in the High School library at 550 Maple St. Commissioner Lewis left the meeting for health reasons. Discussion of operating forms & procedures was tabled to the next meeting. J. Mencarelli reported on equipment already purchased and still needed for a P. GE. There was a motion by Leslie, seconded by Tillotson to authorize Mencarelli to purchase the necessary E studio. equipment to build a control center for the P. G.
