MANISTEE AREA PEG COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES August 20,2003 A regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Area PEG Commission was held on August 20,2003 at 6: m. in room 113 of the Manistee High School, 525 Twelfth Street, Manistee, Michigan. 30 p. MEMBERS PRESENT: J. Mencazelli, J. Ball,M. Tillotson, M. Carlson, N.Leslie, L.Trucks MEMBERS ABSENT: OTHERS PRESENT: S. Scrimger, Kathy Fenstermacher There was a motion by Ball, seconded by Leslie to accept the minutes of the July 23, 2003 meeting. Motion was passed 6- 0. CHANNEL UPDATE - Mencarelli presented a channel log and updated the commission on current work at the broadcast site. DISCUSSION OF OPERATING FORMS & PROCEDURES - Mencarelli presented the policies and procedures document as agreed to during the work session held on August 4,2003. There was a motion by Tillotson, seconded by Carlson to accept Pages 1 through 5 and Page 6 through Commercial Use"of the proposed policy. Motion was passed 6- 0. There was a motion by Trucks, seconded by Ba11 to change a11 references to Channel2 in the proposed policy to read Loca1 Public Access Channel. Motion was rescinded by Trucks. There was a motion by Tillotson to allow phone numbers on sponsorships; motion died due to lack of support. There was a motion by Leslie, seconded by Ba11 to accept the sections of the proposed policy labeled Content"and "Station Identification". Motion passed 6- 0. There was a motion by Carlson, seconded by Trucks to accept "Underwriting and Sponsorship, Paragraph B"in the proposed policy. Motion failed 2- 3;Tillotson abstained. There was a motion by Leslie,seconded by Ball to accept "Underwriting and Sponsorship, Paragraph A" of the proposed policy. Motion was rescinded by Leslie. There was a motion by Ba11, seconded by Trucks to go into Closed Session to discuss qualifications of Program Manager applicants. Motion passed 6- 0. Closed Session Ntnutes Attached** Tillotson and Carlson did not participate in the Closed Session as they were applicants for the position ehu-from Closed Session, it was agreed to hold the next meeting in room 113 of the Manistee On ning r- Higdr School on Twelfth Street. The date for the next meeting was set for September 17, 2003. The meeting was adjourned at approxirriately 7: 45 p. m..
