Manistee PEG Commission August 12, 2024 Meeting Minutes 1. Call to Order Meeting was called to order at 6: 30 pm by Barry Lind Present: Barry Lind, Al Gorman, Chief Tom Hernden, Ex- Officio Member Absent: none 2. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Gorman, supported by Lind to approve agenda as presented. M/ C 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Lind, supported by Gorman to approve minutes to the 8 July 2024 meeting. M/ C 4. Public Comment: None 5. Correspondence: None 6. Directors Report a. Lind 7. Old Business: a. Additional update on Spectrum/ Charter fiber line. Discussion of public input on community access fee on Spectrum cable bills. Discussion of existing fiber in buildings that may be amenable to allowing use by ManisteeTV. com. 8. New Business: a. A review of next steps for a community calendar were discussed. Next steps include developing a one pager" information sheet on need for calendar as well as overall concept of use cases. Discussed administration of the calendar. Finally discussed a phased approach to development/ implementation of calendar, starting with City events, then County and Townships before it is used by public organizations. 8. Motion by Lind, supported by Gorman to adjourn the meeting at 6: 59 pm. M/ C 9. Next meeting Monday, September, 9, 2024, 6: 00 pm at the Manistee City Council Chambers.
