Manistee PEG Commission September 16, 2024 Meeting Minutes 1. Call to Order Meeting was called to order at 6: 00 pm by Barry Lind Present: Barry Lind, Al Gorman, Chief Tom Hernden, Ex- Officio Member Absent: none 2. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Gorman, supported by Lind to approve agenda as presented. MIC 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Lind, supported by Gorman to approve minutes to the 12 August 2024 meeting. MIC 4. Public Comment: None 5. Correspondence: A discussion was held on Charter/ Spectrum proposal for fiber line installation( see old business). 6. Directors Report a. Lind 7. Old Business: a. Additional update on Spectrum/ Charter fiber line. Given there is no other City owned building with fiber installed ( aside from Kennedy School), and the proposed cost from Charter/ Spectrum being high to install elsewhere, the inclination is to wait until the construction on the Kennedy School be complete and then ManisteeTV. com can return to air on Spectrum channels. b. Currently all ManisteeTV.com is being hosted on YouTube. Onekema and the Downtown Development Authority have begun self recording and providing the videos for upload. 8. New Business: a. A review of next steps for a community calendar were discussed. Next steps include developing a fleshing out a mock up of site and refined statement of need, both of which could be used in a November 2024 presentation during the PEG Board update to city council. 8.
