Mikulainformedthecommissionthatthegrant moneyhas notbeenawarded, lookingatspringof2014forinstallationofnewequipment. Thiswill allowmoreopportunityforthepublic/commissionstomakeabiggerbetterdecision. AdoptaPark willtableforfuturediscussion. Commissionneedsmoreinformationonadoptingpark criteria. Thesecriteria’s should comefromCityCouncilorManagertosetguidelines. Commission wouldliketoseeadoptaparkprogramincludedforallourparks. AnnualReportToCouncil ReinhardtrequestedTeglergiveParks & BeautificationreporttoCity CouncilinAugust. NEWBUSINESS ReviewofBylaws –deferredtoourAugustmeeting – membersareencouragedtoreviewbylawsinthe meantimefordiscussion. GENERALDISCUSSION Commissionwouldlike todoaprojectinremembrance ofJohnRozga. Itwasdecidedthatatree w/plaquewillbeplantedinJohn’sfavoritepark –MortonParkatlaterdate. Vasquez willsupplythe plaqueandTeglerwilldonatethetree. MikulaupdatedthecommissionontheupcomingrepairstoLighthousePark,includingnewwoodchips andre-stainingbytheRotaryClub. LighthouseRestroomDamage –QuotesarebeingcollectedandwillbesenttotheCity’sinsurancecarrier. RepairswillnowincludeADAcompliantfixtures. BeachPavilion/FishCleaningStation– Restroomswereupandrunningforthe4rhofJulyfestivities. Contractorswillonceagainclosedownthefacilitiesforcompletion ofpaintingandinstallationof partitionspavilionshouldbeupandrunningintheverynearfuture. ReinhardtstatedthepoorconditionofRedSzymarekParkfortheArts &CraftsFair. Parkwasvery dusty,unevengroundandlitteredwithtwigsandwasdangeroustowalkaroundbecauseoftheuneven ground. ZielinskirecommendedanysuggestionsReinhardtmayhaveshouldbepassedontotheDPW Director.
