TREE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES JUNE 4, 2018 MEMBERS PRESENT: Cookie Friedrich, Pat Sagala, Sue Verheek, Gerald Haw MEMBERS EXCUSED: Janice Waterman, Bob Johnson, Pat Williams, OTHERS PRESENT: Kathie Boyle – City of Manistee Meeting called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Sagala. CITIZEN/PUBLIC COMMENT None Motion by Haw, second by Friedrich to accept May 7, 2018 minutes and place on file. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Chalk Art Contest Will be held on Friday, June 29th at 4:00 p.m. at River & Pine Street. DPW to place barricades at the site. Sagala to purchase additional chalk and bubbles, Friedrich will get prize bags from Forestry Division. NEW BUSINESS None COMMENTS Trees at 5th Avenue look very nice, marvelous idea. 5th Avenue Beach towards turn-around needs clean-up. Would be a great if Mikula would do an article on the 5th Avenue tree planting. There being no further business, Motion by Friedrich, second by Verheek to adjourn at 5:45 p.m. All in favor.
