Manistee Tree Commission Mee�ng Minutes June 12, 2023 Members Present John Helge, Vidar Lerum, Sam Coram, Dennis Oto, Gerald Haw Members Absent N/A Others Present Ka�e Trivisonno, Mickey McCann City of Manistee A mee�ng of the Manistee Tree Commission was called to order by Chair John Helge on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 5:00 pm in council chambers at City Hall. Call to Order Roll Call Approval of Agenda Approved Public Comment Jen Teller commented on the View Management Policy and suggested an adjustment to the homeowners’ assessed property tax. Approval of Minutes Approval of mee�ng minutes from April 17. Unfinished Business Final Approval of View Management Policy. Mo�on by Lerum, second by Oto to amend plan changes. Vote-3 yes and 2 no. Approved. Tree Inventory Program. Coram gave an update on the tree inventory program. The tree inventory layer has been licensed and added to the city’s GIS System. Commission members and volunteers can access the program and add data using mobile devices. New Business Manistee Plant a Tree Promo�on. Discussion about the Plant-a-Tree program kick-off. City residents can order a tree to plant in the city right of way. Tree cost is $50. Forms are available on the City’s webpage or can be picked up at City Hall.
