City of Manistee Tree Commission Meeting Minutes May 13, 2024, 5:00 p.m. Manistee City Council Chambers Members Present Gerry Haw, Sam Coram, Vidar Lerum, Sarah Stevenson Members Absent John Helge Others Present Katie Trivisonno, DPW A meeting of the Manistee Tree Commission was called to order by Co-Chair Gerry Haw on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall. Roll Call Approval of Agenda Approved. Citizen/Public Comment N/A Approval of Minutes Approval of meeting minutes from April 15, 2024. Unfinished Business Tree Planting Program-All trees have been planted. City Tree Inventory Program-Students would like a tree identification application. New Tree Commission members-Haw encouraged residents to join the Tree Commission. New Business Tree Planting Grants-Lerum will research grant availability. Native Species Vegetation-Presentation by Gordon Heinold. Heinold volunteers his time planting native species in gardens along the riverwalk and other green spaces within the city.
