City of Manistee Tree Commission Meeting Minutes June 17, 2024, 5:00 pm. City Council Chambers Members Present Gerry Haw, Vidar Lerum, John Helge, Sam Coram Members Absent Sarah Stevenson Others Present Jeff Mikula, Katie Trivisonno DPW A meeting of the Manistee Tree Commission was called to order by Co-Chair Gerry Haw on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Roll Call Approval of Agenda Approved. Citizen/Public Comment Mr. Rozga, would like to plant a memorial tree at the M-55 non-motorized park. Approval of Minutes Approval of meeting minutes from May 13, 2024. Unfinished Business Tree Commission recruitment discussion. Coram discussed possible collaboration with local garden clubs and high school students. New Business Lerum presented the Consumers Energy tree planting grant. The grant would support tree planting in the Maxwell Town neighborhood. Motion by Coram, second by Lerum to support the Consumers Energy Grant application. Motion passed. Mikula discussed the Michigan DNR tree planting grant. Adjourn Meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
