Call to Order Chair Scott McMeans called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: 8- McMeans, Hennessey, Sladky, Brey, Sitkiewitz, Soeldner, Nickels and Shaw Absent: 3- Howe, Able and Schema Alderperson Sladky arrived at 5:10 p.m. Also Present: City Attorney Kathleen McDaniel, Human Resources Director Rochelle Blindauer, Director of Public Infrastructure Dan Koski, City Planner Paul Braun and Deputy Clerk Deborah Neuser. 3. Discussion and Action Items 14-1597 Request from Mayor Justin Nickels to expend up to $15,000 as needed for consultants, legal or other assistance for the Planning Department until the end of the year. Attachments: 14-1590.pdf Moved by Soeldner, seconded by Sitkiewitz, that this Request be approved with any expenditures being reported to Common Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7- McMeans, Hennessey, Brey, Sitkiewitz, Soeldner, Nickels and Shaw Closed Session: Notice is hereby given that the above governmental body will adjourn into a closed session during the meeting as authorized by Section 19.85(1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes, which authorizes the governmental body to convene in closed session for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. The specific matter which will be considered is the following: 14-1607 Discussion regarding Candidates for Community Development Director. Alderperson Sladky joined the meeting. Chair Scott McMeans read the motion to go into closed session. The motion carried on roll call vote by the following vote: Aye: 8- McMeans, Hennessey, Sladky, Brey, Sitkiewitz, Soeldner, Nickels and Shaw City Attorney Kathleen McDaniel and Human Resources Director Rochelle Blindauer remained for the closed session. Committee deliberated in closed session. (Closed Session portion of the minutes has been redacted). Moved by Shaw, seconded by Brey, that the meeting reconvene in open session. The motion carried on roll call vote by the following vote: Aye: 8- McMeans, Hennessey, Sladky, Brey, Sitkiewitz, Soeldner, Nickels and Shaw Open Session: 14-1608 Discussion on Community Development Director Job Description and recruitment process. Attachments: 14-1608.pdf This Action Item was discussed Committee reviewed the Job Description at length including a salary range and deemphasizing Planning. It was noted the Position Purpose is exactly what we are looking for. Committee also discussed the Masters Degree. Consensus was for Human Resource Director and Mayor to finalize a job description and readvertise for the position. 4.
