1. Call to Order
Council President Scott McMeans called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Present: 10 - Howe, McMeans, Hennessey, Sladky, Brey, Sitkiewitz, Soeldner, Schema, Nickels
and Shaw
Absent: 1- Able
Alderperson Schema arrived at 6:02 p.m. and Alderperson Hennessey arrived at 6:13 p.m.
Also present were: City Planner Paul Braun, Building Inspector Rick Schwarz, Fire Chief Todd
Blaser, City Attorney Kathleen McDaniel and Deputy Clerk Deborah Neuser.
3. Discussion and Action Items
Closed Session: Notice is hereby given that the above governmental body will adjourn to a closed
session during the meeting as authorized by Section 19.85(1)(g) of the Wisconsin Statutes, which
authorizes the governmental body to convene in closed session for the purpose of conferring with
legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advise concerning
strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become
involved. The specific subject matter which will be considered in the closed session is the
following: Update on 1512 Washington demolition progress.
Alderperson McMeans read the Notice to go into Closed Session. Moved by
Brey, seconded by Sitkiewitz, to convene in closed session. The motion
carried on roll call vote by the following vote:
Aye: 9- Howe, McMeans, Sladky, Brey, Sitkiewitz, Soeldner, Schema, Nickels and
Shaw

negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other
specified business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. The
specific subject matter which will be considered in the closed session is the following. Discussion
of City investment in Mid-Cities Mall.
Chairperson McMeans read the Notice to go into Closed Session. Moved by
Brey, seconded by Sitkiewitz, to convene in closed session. The motion
carried on roll call vote by the following vote:

Moved by Sladky, seconded by Hennessey, to reconvene in open session. The
motion carried by the following vote:

4. Adjournment
Moved by Brey, seconded by Sitkiewitz, that this meeting be adjourned at
7:44 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote:

given to the public, to the Herald-Times-Reporter, the official newspaper of
Manitowoc, and to those news media who have filed a written request for this
notice that a meeting of the above-referenced will be held at the date, time and
location listed above.
The above governmental body will meet to discuss and possibly take action on
the agenda items set forth below.
