Discussions took place regarding the proposed mission and vision statements by the Strategic
Planning Committee. The Alderpersons at the meeting wanted more specific details in the
statements for the City of Manitowoc. Suggestions were to promote a specific percentage of
growth and development; develop and expand services and improve infrastructure. The Strategic
Planning Committee offered a copy of the results obtained by the focus groups and instructed the
Alderpersons that it was recommended by the hired facilitator to keep the mission and vision
statements broad and to build off the statements in the future. The group will meet to discuss
again.
5. Adjournment
Moved by Sladky, seconded by Kummer, that this meeting be adjourned. The
motion carried by the following vote:

given to the public, to the Herald-Times-Reporter, the official newspaper of
Manitowoc, and to those news media who have filed a written request for this
notice that a meeting of the above-referenced will be held at the date, time and
location listed above.
Notice is hereby given that a majority of the Common Council of the City of
Manitowoc may be present at this meeting to gather information about the
subject matter over which they have decision making responsibility.
The above governmental body will meet to discuss and possibly take action on
the agenda items set forth below.
