Call to Order 2. Roll Call Present: 9- McMeans, Howe, Brey, Soeldner, Nickels, Czekala, Novak, Lotz and Gabriel Absent: 2- Sitkiewitz and Kummer Also present: City Attorney Kathleen McDaniel, Community Development Director Nic Sparacio, Staff Attorney Liz Majerus, Attorney Andy Steimle, and Deputy City Clerk Mackenzie Reed-Kadow 3. Public Comment 4. Discussion and Action Items 17-1219 An Ordinance to create 16.200 of the Manitowoc Municipal Code regulating Residential Rental Contact Registration and Inspection Program. Attachments: Residential Inspection Program (Mayor Version) Staff Attorney Liz Majerus provided an overview of the proposed ordinance and a summary of how a previous listening session with interested parties went as well as answered questions. Discussion took place on possible options other than an ordinance establishing a mandatory registry. Several concerns were brought up with the current state of the proposed ordinance. Notice is hereby given that the above governmental body may adjourn into a closed session during the meeting as authorized by Section 19.85(1)(e) of the Wisconsin Statutes, which authorizes the governmental body to convene in closed session for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. The specific subject matter that may be considered in closed session is: 18-0372 Discussion on CN Peninsula 5. Closed Session Chairperson McMeans read the notice to convene in closed session. Moved by Brey, seconded by Howe, to convene in closed session.
