900 Quay Street City of Manitowoc Manitowoc, WI 54220 www.manitowoc.org Meeting Minutes - Final Public Safety Committee Wednesday, June 25, 2014 6:00 PM Council Chambers Pursuant to Section 19.84(2) and (3) of the Wisconsin Statutes, notice is hereby given to the public, to the Herald-Times-Reporter, the official newspaper of Manitowoc, and to those news media who have filed a written request for this notice that a meeting of the above-referenced will be held at the date, time and location listed above. The above governmental body will meet to discuss and possibly take action on the agenda items set forth below. 1. Call to Order Present: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky Absent: 2- Shaw and Howe 2. Approval of Minutes 14-1391 May 27, 2014 Public Safety Minutes. Attachments: 14-1391.pdf Moved by Sitkiewitz, seconded by Sladky, that this Minutes be approved. Monthly Reports 14-1383 Fire Department Monthly Report - May 2014, recommending acceptance and place on file. Discussion and Action Items City of Manitowoc Page 1 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final June 25, 2014 14-1141 Fire Dept request from Lifequest Billing Office recommending adjustment to accout 182-14-0428 in the amount of $1078.50, recommending denial of the request. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky 14-1385 Draft of RFP for EMS billing services, recommending approval. Attachments: 14-1385.pdf Moved by Sladky, seconded by Sitkiewitz, that this Action Item be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky 14-1386 Draft of RFP for collection service, recommending approval. Attachments: 14-1386.pdf Moved by Sladky, seconded by Sitkiewitz, that this Action Item be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky 14-1384 Request by Tyler Kiel and Brian Lodel, MFD Local, for approval of "Fill the Boot" on August 14, 15 & 16, 2014, recommending approval. Moved by Sladky, seconded by Sitkiewitz, that this Request be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky 14-1388 Request by Police Chief to hire new Police Officer due to retirement. Moved by Sitkiewitz, seconded by Sladky, that this Action Item be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky 14-1146 Discussion concerning expenditures for Police equipment. Moved by Sitkiewitz, seconded by Sladky, that the New World Additional Services be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky Moved by Sitkiewitz, seconded by Sladky, that the bullet proof vests for the squads be approved. Attachments: 14-1389.pdf This Communication was discussed 14-1390 Request from Dennis Riemer for speed limit change from 35 to 25 on Broadway St., recommending denial of the request. Moved by Sitkiewitz, seconded by Sladky, that this Request be denied. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3- Able, Sitkiewitz and Sladky 6.
