900 Quay Street City of Manitowoc Manitowoc, WI 54220 www.manitowoc.org Meeting Minutes - Final Public Safety Committee Tuesday, July 22, 2014 5:00 PM Council Chambers PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE Pursuant to Section 19.84(2) and (3) of the Wisconsin Statutes, notice is hereby given to the public, to the Herald-Times-Reporter, the official newspaper of Manitowoc, and to those news media who have filed a written request for this notice that a meeting of the above-referenced will be held at the date, time and location listed above. The above governmental body will meet to discuss and possibly take action on the agenda items set forth below. 1. Call to Order Meeting Called to Order by C. Able at 5:00pm 2. Roll Call Present: 4- Able, Shaw, Sitkiewitz and Sladky Absent: 1- Howe 3. Approval of Minutes 3. 14-1542 Minutes from the June 25, 2014 Public Safety meeting. Attachments: 14-1542.PDF Moved by Sitkiewitz, seconded by Shaw, that the 6/25/14 Public Safety Minutes be accepted and placed on file.Motion carried, all in favor. 4. Discussion and Action Items 14-1538 MFD hardship request from LifeQuest. Call Number 182-14-0765. Motion by Sitkiewitz, Seconded by Shaw, to approve the Hardship Waiver. Motion carried, all in favor. 14-1539 MFD update collaborative effort with Building Inspection. This item was discussed. 14-1540 MFD 2015 EMS Fee Schedule. Attachments: 14-1540.pdf Motion made by Sitkiewitz, Seconded by Shaw, to approve the rate increases effective January 1, 2015. Motion carried, all in favor. 14-1532 Memo from Mayor Justin M. Nickels requesting a parking spot be created on No. 8th Street north of the bridge and south of Maritime Drive (in front of River Loft Condos). Attachments: 14-1532.pdf This item was taken care of already. 14-1533 Parking on Washington St in front of Subway/Custom Health Pharmacy. Request from John Sowinski. Attachments: 14-1533.PDF Motion made by Shaw, Seconded by Sitkiewitz, to designate this area on Washington St as NO PARKING. Motion carried, all in favor. 14-1469 Communication from Sharon Strouf relative to speeding and safety concerns. Attachments: 14-1469.pdf This issue will be brought back next meeting to allow time to research striping and other ideas for Reed Ave. City of Manitowoc Page 2 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final July 22, 2014 14-1443 Request from Jutta Furca, Towsley, Inc. to extend the noise ordinance to 11:00 pm on August 16, 2014 for a band at the Manitowoc County Airport hangar to raise money for the airshow. Attachments: 14-1443.pdf This item was already taken care of. 14-1508 Ordinance establishing forfeiture amounts for violating the worthless check ordinance. Attachments: 14-1508.pdf Motion made by Sladky, Seconded by Sitkiewitz to adopt ordinance. Motion carried, all in favor. 14-1534 Request by Mayor Nickels for Flashing Speed Signs. Attachments: 14-1534.pdf This item will be brought back next meeting to allow time for more details. 7.
