CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Cindy Gardner at 6:06 p.m. Board Members present: Cindy Gardner, Annette Hamill, Marty Thomas, Chris Ohan, Tom Leach, Linda Leddy and Jandel Crutchfield City Staff present: Jessica Baber, Museum Manager and Amanda Brown, Museum Education and Engagement Specialist 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM FEBRUARY 23 MEETING Chris made a motion to approve the minutes with the two amendments, to remove Jandel from the list of Board members present and to correct a typo under Board Member Comments changing Tome to Tom. Annette seconded the motion and all voted in favor to approve the minutes as amended. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. PROJECT UPDATES a. Upcoming Programs – April 1st, the Tarrant County Historical Society is coming for a tour of the museum and the Man House. They will meet at the museum, starting at 11:00 a.m. On April 22nd, Hands on History will make yarn animals from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Man House. A class from TCC will tour both museum next Thursday. b. TAM update – Jessica, Amanda, Marty, Chris and Linda will be attending the TAM meeting in San Antonio, April 24 - 26. c. Preservation Month Activities and Location Identification – Location for the This Place Matters campaign have been chosen. Art Wright will be contacting each location to get permission to place the sign on their property. The museum clerks are researching each location and writing a short blurb about its history. On May 6th, Linda, Marty, Annette, Tom and Chris will be working on the floor cloth painting from 11a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and it will continue to be worked on for the next three Saturdays and beyond until it is completed. Jessica will be presenting a talk on how to preserve and care for family photos at 1:30 p.m. at the Historical Museum on May 6th. There will be a poster contest for students and the deadline to enter is April 30th. The theme of the contest is This Place Matters and will be based on a place, person or event from Mansfield. The winner could win $100.00. Posters should be 11 x 17 and the winners will be announced on May 18th and be on display May 1st - 31st at the Man House information center. d. Black History Meeting – On April 12, Brenda Norwood and Floyd Moody will be meeting with museum staff and Jandel and Tom. We hope to hear their thoughts on what they would like to see on exhibit and how to approach growing our collection of black history at the museum. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS On April 20th, The Historical Society members meeting will be at the Man House at 6:00. Art will be presenting a talk on Crime in Mansfield. 7.
