MAPLE GROVE ARBOR SUBCOMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES ENGINEERING CONFERENCE ROOM / OFFSITE January 7th, 2020 – 9:30 AM Call to Order The special meeting of the Arbor Subcommittee was called to order by Member Sarah Piket at 9:30 a.m. Members Present Sarah Piket, Marilyn Arnlund, Don Varney Members Absent None Also Present None Approval of Agenda and Marilyn Arnlund recommended removing (3.A.) Debrief Minutes of December 16th meeting, (3.B.) Update comprehensive overview document, and (4.A.) Review Eden Prairie and Minnetonka ordinances. She also recommended adding (4.B.) Review Hennepin County Sustainable Landscape Guidelines. Marilyn Arnlund made a motion to approve the amended agenda of the January 7th meeting. The motion was seconded by Don Varney and passed unanimously on a voice vote. Sarah Piket made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 16th meeting. Old Business New Business Review Hennepin The subcommittee reviewed the Hennepin County County Sustainable Sustainable Landscape Guidelines for the Department of Landscape Guidelines Community Works. This guidance document was created by a landscape engineering company exclusively for Hennepin County’s Department of Community Works to promote successful plantings for sustainable landscapes. Guidelines are documented for various aspects of and considerations for project development (Site selection, Soil, Implementation, etc.). Several guidelines were identified to be recommended for adoption by the City of Maple Grove. Next Meeting Debrief and notes consolidation from December 16th meeting with Peter MacDonagh, review the State of Minnesota’s B3 Guidelines. Arbor Subcommittee Meeting Minutes January 7, 2020 Page 2 Adjournment Don Varney moved to adjourn the meeting.
