Maple Grove Arbor subcommittee regular meeting minutes February 20, 2024 CED Conference Room 9 a.m. Call to order The regular meeting of the Arbor Subcommittee was called to order by Member Marilyn Arnlund at 9:05 a.m. Members present Marilyn Arnlund, Don Varney, Sarah Piket Members absent None Also present None Approval of agenda and Member Varney suggested adding review of standard detail minutes plate for tree planting drawings to the agenda. Motion Varney, second Arnlund to approve the amended agenda for February 20, 2024. Vote all ayes. Motion passed. Approval of minutes Motion Varney, second Arnlund to approve the minutes for January 20, 2024. Vote all ayes. Motion passed. Old Business None New Business Debrief of presentation to Members discussed feedback of the proposed landscape full Arbor Committee ordinance changes from Arbor Committee members at the February 8, 2024, Arbor Committee meeting. Suggestions to specify box cutting for container trees and remove excess soil from ball & burlap trees will be incorporated into the appropriate standard detail plate. Verbiage regarding circling roots was refined. Members did not make changes to the definition of interior parking spaces and will wait and see if city staff feels it is necessary. Review draft standard detail Members reviewed five draft detail plates and discussed plates for tree planting revisions regarding box cutting container trees and removing excess soil from ball & burlap trees. Other minor revisions were discussed. The need for two additional detail plates was identified. Adjournment Motion Varney, second Piket to adjourn the meeting at 11:30 a.m. Vote all ayes.
