Maple Grove Arbor subcommittee regular meeting minutes October 2, 2024 CED Conference Room 10:00 a.m. Call to order The regular meeting of the Arbor Subcommittee was called to order by member Sarah Piket at 10:00 a.m. Members present Don Varney, Sarah Piket Members absent Marilyn Arnlund Also present None Approval of agenda and Member Piket proposed removing 3.A. (incorporate staff minutes recommendations into proposed ordinance changes) and addressing in a future meeting. Motion Varney, second Piket to approve the amended agenda for October 2, 2024. Vote all ayes. Motion passed. Approval of minutes Motion Varney, second Piket to approve the minutes for September 5, 2024. Vote all ayes. Motion passed. Incorporate staff suggestions Old Business into subcommittee Not discussed. Removed from agenda. recommended landscape ordinance changes Discuss staff suggestion to New Business change the method by which Members reviewed landscape plans from previous the required number of trees developments in Maple Grove, and determined how many is calculated trees would be required per the landscape ordinances of Plymouth, Brooklyn Park and Woodbury. Each of these cities have differing methods for determining required trees. For smaller developments requirements were somewhat similar across cities. For larger developments, Woodbury and Brooklyn Park required more trees. Four developments were reviewed but comparison calculations could only be performed on three. Review city code to identify Time ran out so this topic was not discussed where residential tree requirements are specified Adjournment Motion Varney, second Piket to adjourn the meeting at 12:50 p.m. Vote all ayes.
