Maple Grove Arbor subcommittee regular meeting minutes December 9, 2024 CED Conference Room 10:00 a.m. Call to order The regular meeting of the Arbor subcommittee was called to order by member Sarah Piket at 10:00 a.m. Members present Don Varney, Sarah Piket Members absent Marilyn Arnlund Also present none Approval of agenda and Piket suggested adding item to agenda to add staff minutes recommendations to the draft ordinance changes. Piket also suggested discussions regarding alternative tree calculation methods, and residential tree requirements be moved to end of agenda in case of time constraints. Motion Varney, second Piket to approve the amended agenda for December 9, 2024. Vote all ayes. Motion passed. Approval of minutes Motion Varney, second Piket to approve the minutes for November 6, 2024. Vote all ayes. Motion passed. Old Business Work staff Members reviewed staff recommendations to draft recommendations into draft ordinance changes and for those that do not need follow-up, ordinance changes added them to the official copy of the draft changes. There are some staff recommendations that either require additional research or additional information from staff. Those were not added to the draft ordinance changes. City Forester DeGroy hopes to get requested additional information from staff early in 2025. Continue research and Item not discussed due to time constraints discussion into alternative methods for calculating the required number of trees New Business Review city code to identify Item not discussed due to time constraints where residential tree requirements are specified Adjournment Motion Varney, second Piket to adjourn the meeting at 12:55 p.m. Vote all ayes.
