Maple Grove City Council closed work session Meeting minutes December 4, 2023 Call to order Pursuant to call and notice thereof, a closed meeting of the Maple Grove City Council was held at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Maple Grove Government Center/Public Safety Facility, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Present were Mayor Steffenson and Councilmembers Judy Hanson, Kristy Barnett, Kristy Janigo, and Rachelle Johnson. Absent was none. Also attending was City Administrator Heidi Nelson, Interim Public Works Director / City Engineer Vince Vander Top, and City Attorney Justin Templin. Mayor Steffenson called the meeting to order at 5:16 p.m. Mayor opened the meeting and asked Mr. Templin to address the council. Closed session to City Attorney Justin Templin stated the City Council has the ability to go into discuss litigation closed session pursuant to Minn. Statute § 13D.05, subd. 3(b) when closure is strategy in the permitted for the City Council to meet with legal counsel to discuss legal strategy matter of City of to discuss litigation in the matter of City of Maple Grove et al v. All In Minnesota, Maple Grove et Court File No. 27-CV-23-2316. al v. All In Minnesota, Court Mr. Templin advised that the discussion be strictly limited to said subject, and File No. 27-CV- then he requested that the council meet in closed session and that a motion be 23-2316 made to go into closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 13D.05, subd. 3(b). Motion by Mayor Steffenson to go into closed session, seconded by Councilmember Hanson. Council adjourned to closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. 13D.05, subd. 3(b). Adjournment Motion by Mayor Steffenson, seconded by Councilmember Hanson, to adjourn to the joint City Council/Park Board work session meeting of December 4, 2023. Upon call of the motion by Mayor Steffenson, there were four ayes and no nays. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 5:57 p.m. by Mayor Steffenson.
