Maple Grove City Council closed session Meeting minutes December 2, 2024 Call to order Pursuant to call and notice thereof, a closed meeting of the Maple Grove City Council was held at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Maple Grove Government Center/Public Safety Facility, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Present were Mayor Steffenson and Councilmembers Judy Hanson, Kristy Janigo, and Rachelle Johnson. Absent was Councilmember Barnett. Also attending was City Administrator Heidi Nelson, Human Resources Director Krista Guzman and Finance Director Greg Sticha. Mayor Steffenson called the meeting to order at 6:16 p.m. Mayor Steffenson opened the meeting and stated the City Council has the ability to go into closed session pursuant to Minn. Statute § 13D.03 to discuss labor negotiation strategy. Closed meeting pursuant to Mayor Steffenson advised that the discussion be strictly limited to said subject, Minn. Statute § and then he requested that the Council meet in closed session and that a motion 13D.03 to discuss be made to go into closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 13D.03. labor negotiation strategy Motion by Councilmember Johnson to go into closed session, seconded by Councilmember Hanson. Council adjourned to closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. 13D.03. Other items as City staff reviewed the upcoming December 16th Council agenda. Mayor deemed Steffenson discussed his intention to reach out to Hennepin County necessary Commissioner Anderson to discuss the recent changes to county assessing services. Adjournment Motion by Councilmember Hanson, seconded by Councilmember Johnson, to adjourn to the City Council regular meeting of December 2, 2024. Upon call of the motion by Mayor Steffenson, there were four ayes and no nays. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m. by Mayor Steffenson.
