Maple Grove City Council closed work session Meeting minutes December 11, 2024 Call to order Pursuant to call and notice thereof, a closed meeting of the Maple Grove City Council was held at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Maple Grove Government Center/Public Safety Facility, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Present were Mayor Steffenson (left at 7:58 a.m.) and Councilmembers Judy Hanson, Kristy Janigo, and Rachelle Johnson. Absent was Councilmember Kristy Barnett. Also attending was City Administrator Heidi Nelson, Finance Director Greg Sticha, Parks and Recreation Director Chuck Stifter, Stacie Kvilvang, Senior Municipal Advisor with Ehlers, Inc., and City Attorney Justin Templin. Mayor Steffenson called the meeting to order at 7:16 a.m. Mayor opened the meeting and asked Mr. Templin to address the council. Closed session to City Attorney Justin Templin stated the City Council has the ability to go into consider and closed session pursuant to Minn. Statute § 13D.05, subd. 3 (c)(3) when closure is develop an offer permitted to consider terms of a purchase of real property. He recommended and and possible requested that the city make a motion to close the meeting pursuant to Minn. counteroffer for Statute § 13D.05, subd. 3 (c)(3) to develop and consider terms to develop an offer the purchase of and possible counteroffer for the purchase of the LifeTime Fitness building. Mr. real estate, Templin advised that the discussion be strictly limited to said subject, that the specifically the meeting is being recorded, and the recording will be retained for eight (8) years LifeTime Fitness per state statute and will become public data after the transaction under building in Maple consideration is completed or abandoned. He then requested everyone present Grove state their name for the purpose of making their voices more identifiable to anyone listening to the recording at a later date. Those present are listed above. Mr. Templin requested that the council meet in closed session and that a motion be made to go into closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 13D.05, subd. 3 (c)(3). Motion by Councilmember Johnson to go into closed session, seconded by Councilmember Hanson. Council adjourned to closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. 13D.05, subd. 3 (c)(3). Other items as None deemed necessary Adjournment Motion by Councilmember Johnson, seconded by Councilmember Janigo, to adjourn to the City Council regular meeting of December 16, 2024. Upon call of the motion by Acting Mayor Hanson, there were three ayes and no nays. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 a.m. by Acting Mayor Hanson.
