Committee members discussed to move forward on the research of the Gopher Tortoise road mural. MOTION by Chair Boeher, seconded by Member Barber, to approve moving forward on the research of the Gopher Tortoise road mural. Marco Island residents voiced their concern regarding Shark fishing on the beach. City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Beach and Coastal Resources Meeting Minutes - Final November 16, 2022 Advisory Committee Police Chief Frazzano stated that the City Police responded to a complaint regarding shark fishing on the beach but due to Insufficient evidence no charges were issued. (8) PRESENTATIONS ID 22-2523 BchCRAC meeting presentation Mary Beth Cummings members of the Beautification Advisory Committee presented the Winterberry & Maple Public Beach access improvements project. The Beautification Committee have been task by the City Council with addressing functional, and educational features of the City Public Beach Access points and wanted to share the information with the Brach and Costal Resource Committee and ask for any input that the Committee might have that can be include into the project. (9) OLD BUSINESS ID 22-2366 BchCRAC Old Business presentation Absent/vacant committee seats Committee members discussed vacant committee seats. Chair Boehner mentioned that she will send an email to the City Council regarding filling up the vacant committee seats. Live Shelling Sign Locations Committee members discussed the Live Shelling Sign Locations. Gopher Tortoise Letters/Brochures for distribution to contractors Committee members discussed locations and ways on how to distribute the Gopher Tortoise Letters/Brochures to contractors. Flashing Gopher Tortoise Signs on S Barfield. Committee members discussed locations for the "Flashing Gopher Tortoise" signs on S. Barfield. There was a discussion regarding who to contact incase some comes across a hit or injured Gopher Tortoise. MOTION by Chair Boehner, seconded by Member Ryan, to approve purchasing two Flashing Gopher Tortoise Signs. Committee members decided to keep the Starter-burrow program for gopher tortoise into the agenda to continued with finding ways to help the program. Window clings/decals for sea turtle lighting (draft design) Committee members discussed Window clings/decals for sea turtle lighting. Rodenticide usage and/or elimination Committee members discussed the elimination on Rodenticide usage. (10) NEW BUSINESS ID 22-2521 BchCRAC New Business presentation Volunteer Beach Stewardship Kathryn Grigsby shared information with the Committee regarding Beach Stewardship volunteers. 2023 Beach Cleaning Dates Committed members reviewed and discussed 2023 Beach Cleaning Dates. MOTION by Member Scarpa, seconded by Member Barber, to approve the 2023 Beach Cleaning dates. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Present: 6- Member Barber, Chair Boehner, Member O'Donnell, Member Ryan, Member Scarpa and Member Stephenson Beach Clean-up T-Shirt Logo Design Committee members discussed colors and logo design's on the Beach Clean-Up T-Shirt. MOTION by Chair Boehner, seconded by Member Scarpa, to approve colors and logo design's on the Beach Clean-up T-Shirt. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 5- Member Barber, Chair Boehner, Member O'Donnell, Member Ryan and Member Scarpa Water Quality action item Member Scarpa questioned what were the Committee's duties as they pertain to Water Quality in Marco Island . Budget Committee members discussed the budget. (11) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS Committee members discussed the meeting dates for 2023.
