(2) ROLL CALL Present: 7- Member Cummings, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Nesmith, Member Tobin, Member Watts and Chair Connelly Also Present: Justin Martin, Director of Public Works, Storm Gewirtz, Storm Water Engineer, Diedre Wint, Administrative Assistant, Martin Luna, Video Technician (3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Chair Connelly. ID 22-2504 Introduction of New Board Member, Sharon Watts by Chair Connelly Committee Members were introduced to Member Watts who moved from the State of Virginia to Marco Island in March, 2022. Member Watts has a working background in engineer coupled with work experience in both the public and private sectors. Member Watts is excited and looking forward to being a valuable Member to the Committee and an active resident to Marco Island. (4) APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA MOTION by Vice Chair Nesmith, seconded by Member Leaser, that the Agenda be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 7- Member Cummings, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Nesmith, Member Tobin, Member Watts and Chair Connelly (5) APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES MOTION by Member Tobin, seconded by Member Kramer, that the Minutes be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 7- Member Cummings, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Nesmith, Member Tobin, Member Watts and Chair Connelly (6) STAFF COMMUNICATIONS The Committee Members were asked to consider in their Committee Communication a work plan with goals for the coming year to include: Agenda items for discussion, date for the next meeting and also confirmation of attendance from Committee Members. Questions were posed on the status of the installation of veneer pavers for the Creative Box Wrap Committee initiative which was delayed due to construction at Bald Eagle and Heathwood. Staff Liaison and Public Works Director, Justin Martin will report back to the Committee at the next scheduled meeting. (7) PUBLIC COMMENT (TIME CERTAIN 10:00 A.M.) None. (9) OLD BUSINESS ID 22-2205 Beach Access Beautification Project Update The Agnoli Barber proposal has been shared with the Beach Access Committee with the hope of gaining feedback particularly with signage and the rinse stations. The Committee Members were informed that the Beach Access design initiative presented by Agnoli Barber was unfunded and in order to move forward with a presentation to City Council for funding it would require a design and construction cost estimates. These estimates will be included in an Agenda item for the next scheduled City Council Meeting and a member of the Committee would be expected to do the presentation. It was recommended that the Committee ask Agnoli Barber to present the same design presentation to Council as it did to the Committee to further assist the initiative. Questions were raised on whether the Committee needed to approve the construction estimates prior to presentation to Council. The matter was deferred to the next meeting and the Committee was reminded that it had requested that Agnoli Barber present at least concepts that may include repairs but not excluding a "cadillac" approach. ID 22-2207 10,000 Trees in 10 Years Initiative The 10K Tree in 10 Years' Initiative continue to hold its biweekly meeting with the Naples Botanical Garden. A planning session is scheduled to recommend trees and planting guidelines. The next scheduled meeting has been moved forward due to continued Hurricane Ian cleaning at the Garden. It has been noted after Hurricane Ian that palms on Marco Island did well except the Queen Palm. Highlights of the 10K Trees in 10 Years' Initiative featured in the Naples Botanical Garden Newsletter were presented to the Committee and it is available for viewing online in the (Converse). (10) NEW BUSINESS None. (11) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS ID 22-2541 Topics the Committee proposed as goals for 2023.
