(2) ROLL CALL Present: 3- Vice-Chair O'Donnell, Member Ryan and Member Scarpa Not Present: 3- Member Morze, Member Rasmussen and Chair Boehner (3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Vice-Chair O'Donnell (4) APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA MOTION by Member Scarpa, seconded by Member Ryan, that this Agenda be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FALLOWING VOTE: Yes: 4- Barber, Vice-Chair O'Donnell, Member Ryan and Member Scarpa Not Present: 3- Member Morze, Member Rasmussen and Chair Boehner (6) OLD BUSINESS BUDGET Committee members discussed the new Beach and Costal Resources Advisory Committee budget. MOTION by Member Scarpa, seconded by Member Ryan, to allocate 400 dollars for material and installation for the public beach cleaning stations at the South, Winterberry, and Madera beach. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: BEACH CLEAN-UP @ South Beach 11/4/23 AT 8 A.M Next South beach clean up will be on November 4th. (7) NEW BUSINESS VOTE ON MEETING SCHEDULE FOR 2024 City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Beach and Coastal Resources Meeting Minutes - Final October 18, 2023 Advisory Committee Committee members discussed the 2024 meeting schedule. MOTION by Member Scarpa, seconded by Member Rayan, to approved to meet monthly from Jan to Apr and every other month. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 4- Barber, Vice-Chair O'Donnell, Member Ryan and Member Scarpa Not Present: 3- Member Morze, Member Rasmussen and Chair Boehner WORK PLAN WORKSHOP DATE WITH COUNCIL MEMBER BLONNA Committee members discussed dates for the 2024 Goals & Work Plan WorkShop. RODENTICIDE SPEAKER: REBECCA HARMAN (FLORIDA AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION Rebecca Harman from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission presented some information regarding rodenticide. ID 23-3202 Florida and wildlife Conservation Commission AUDUBON PROJECTS Brittany Piersma from Audubon of the Western Everglades discussed the 2024 project. MOTION by Member Scarpa, seconded by Member Rayan, to Approved to fund $960 for one Coastal Bird flushing sign to be led by AWE. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 4- Barber, Vice-Chair O'Donnell, Member Ryan and Member Scarpa Not Present: 3- Member Morze, Member Rasmussen and Chair Boehner (8) STAFF COMMUNICATIONS Kathryn Grigsby updated the Committee members with the fallowing information: JW Marriot Video for Wildlife awareness. Repurpose Gopher Tortise signs. ID 23-3203 Beach & Coastal Resources Advisory Committee Presentation CODE ENFORCEMENT-SEA TURTLE LIGHTING ENFORCEMENT UPDATE Ira Warden with Code Enforcement updated the Committee members regarding the Sea Turtle Lighting Enforcement.
