(2) ROLL CALL Present: 5- Member Eby, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Tobin and Chair Connelly Absent: 2- Member Cummings and Member Nesmith Also Present CITY STAFF: Timothy Pinter, Public Works Director Martin Luna, Video/Broadcast Technician Tracey Barnett, Administrative Assistant Public Works Department (3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Chair Connelly. (8) PRESENTATIONS None. (9) OLD BUSINESS City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Beautification Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Final September 1, 2021 a. Committee Website Content- Update (Member Leaser) ID 21-1737 Committee Website Content Member Leaser explained that he met with IT Director Jose Duran, and Tim Pinter, Public Works Director, regarding changes to the website. Mr. Jose Duran gave his approval for the new wire frame and design and would get back to him with a price after contacting the City website provider. Mr. Duran felt the changes were minimal, just reorganization of content and a few minor design changes. Mr. Pinter felt it was completely achievable. b. Seasonal Light Display- Update (Chair Connelly) ID 21-1738 Seasonal Light Display Chair Connelly explained, after talking with City Council Chair Jared Grifoni, that City Manager Michael McNees and the City Staff would be soliciting bids for lighting companies. Also, she noted that this was previously approved by the City Council. c. 2022 Fiscal Year Budget (All) ID 21-1739 2022 Fiscal Year Budget After discussing potential uses for the 2022 fiscal year budget, the Committee decided to ask Director Pinter work with Affordable Landscape & Design to spend the balance of 2021 budget on plants in the medians on S. Barfield Dr. MOTION by Member Leaser, seconded by Chair Connelly to authorize Director Pinter to work with Affordable Landscaping & Design and to spend the balance of the 2021 budget on plants for the medians on S.Barfield, be Approved. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: Yes: 5- Member Eby, Member Kramer, Member Leaser, Vice-Chair Tobin and Chair Connelly d. Review of Mission Statement- Update (All) ID 21-1740 Review of Mission Statement Member Leaser reviewed some changes to the BAC Mission Statement that he recommended. The Committee decided to move ahead with the changes. Director Pinter will present to the City Council. MOTION by Member Eby, seconded by Vice-Chair Tobin, that the updated mission statement to the new 2022 BAC Mission statement,as submitted by Member Leaser, be Approved. Member Availability for Next Meeting 10/6/21 @ 3:00 P.M. All Members of the Committee who were present indicated their intention to be available for the Committee's next meeting on Wednesday October 6, 2021 @ 3:00 P.M. b. Sharing of Thoughts on Topics for Committee Concern and Interest (All) Discussion was brought up by Member Leaser about past Committee topics that may need to be revisited like cul-de-sac landscaping and maintenance. There was a time when there was an "Adopt a Cul-de-sac program, but there are only about 12 on the Island that are maintained. Affordable Landscape does the maintenance on the remaining 300+ on the Island, but no planting according to their contract with the City. Mr. Pinter will share with the Committee the old brochure that was circulated years ago with recommendations for plants and tips for review by this Committee.
