1. Call to Order
Chair Brechnitz called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M.

3. Business - Operating Budget Workshop
ID 20-865 City of Marco Island Budget Workshop - Operating
City Finance Director Guillermo Polanco opened the workshop by briefly describing the challenges
imposed on the current fiscal year's operating plan by the COVID-19 pandemic, and he summarized the
actions undertaken by the City to balance the budget in light of the reduction in anticipated activity taxes
and fees in fiscal years 2020 and 2021.
Councilor Honig distributed to all present an analytical spreadsheet detailing 12 years of relevant data as
background and context for the 2021 departmental operating budget and manpower requests coming
before the Council at this meeting.
The following City Staff leaders then, in turn, presented the Council the proposed operating budget
requests and responded to questions from members of the Council. City Manager McNees and City
Finance Director Polanco provided added support and explanation as requested.

OPERATING BUDGET WORKSHOP

persons entering the building will receive a health screening consisting of a temperature check
