CALL TO ORDER Meeting called to order by Chair Portu. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 5- Member Rutledge, Vice-Chair Richards, Member Siegel, Member Kuhn and Chair Portu Absent: 1- Member Bonos 3. FY20 BUDGET REQUEST ID 19-268 Draft FY20 PRAC Budget Request Attachments: FY20 PRAC DRAFT BUDGET REQUEST MEMO.pdf Committee discussed FY20 Draft Budget Request (some requests from last year not approved with same costs). Committee discussed additional budget ideas not listed on the FY20 Budget Request memo sent to committee by Chair Portu: Members FY20 budget request priorities: . Leigh Plummer Park - pathway and parking lot needs paving, mulch and sand around trees, brick retaining wall. Ms. Malloy included request for Capital Projects for Leigh Plummer pathway, received verbal quote for $38,000, researching material for concrete vs. asphalt. Need smoking receptacles. . Calusa Park - Fruit and Space Garden (need $2,500), Mr. Benarroch will honor proposal. . Jane Hittler Park - need improvements . Mackle Park - Dog Park - dirt, sod, fill in near cement pads to avoid falling accident, crosswalk near park belongs to Public Works . Racquet Center - additional pickleball courts, court #1 to 2-3 courts. Restrooms has funds now from Parks & Recreation. . Veterans' Community Park - Bandshell (waiting to hear from Kimley-Horn for estimate) 5 year plan New FY20 budget begins October 1, 2019, reviewing budget proposals in July, outside operating budget for band shell. Public Comment: Margie Grammel, resident requested additional pickleball courts for Racquet Center with more parking spaces. Only allowed certain amount of spaces for parking for tennis/pickleball members. Dave Shaggott, resident stated only have temporary courts on Tennis Court #1, requested 4 courts. Players increasing dramatically due to interest. Waiting time increased, makes sense to be playing on courts opposed to waiting to play. Parking limited factor, other locations to park are Mackle Park or NCH facility across street. Paint lines a different color for pickleball and tennis keep same color. Received 140 petition signatures, need to add 2 extra courts, cost is for paint only, members will pay for renovations. Ms. Malloy stated it is not just painting line cost, need to take out all lines, company stated not good to change courts, a lot of factors involved, concerned for safety due to possible falling injuries. 199 pickleball members, can't handle many more members. It is not recommended by staff to add 2 more pickleball courts. Will speak to MOR Sports on changing colors on ground. Yvette Benarroch - thanked committee for green space at Veterans' Community Park, green space helps water quality. Committee will discuss canceling some summer month meetings (possibly June, August or September) at next PRAC meeting. - MOTION by Member Rutledge, seconded by Vice-Chair Richards, to suspend the rules during the workshop.
