(Note: Due to technical difficulties, the recording started at the Hydrodynamic Study Update.) MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOICE VOTE: City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Waterways Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes - Final January 25, 2024 Yes: 5- Vice-Chair High, Member Inacker, Member Sokol, Chair Winter and Member Wordehoff (6) OLD BUSINESS ID 23-3310 Hydrodynamic Study Update Public Works Director Justin Martin, P.E. introduced Mr. Kyle Winslow, Ph.D, PE of Jacobs Engineering who presented, via Zoom teleconference connection, the results of the tide modeling and predicted internal waterway flushing results from re-sizing certain waterway connecting culverts under San Marco Road. Kyle Winslow, Ph.D, P.E. and Justin Martin, P.E. answered a number of questions from the Waterways Advisory Committee. Justin Martin, P.E. commented the main focus is the overall benefit of flushing. (7) NEW BUSINESS ID 23-3365 Define Goals of the Waterways Advisory Committee Councilor Blonna discussed the time frame and suggested fiscal year 2024/2025 for the goal process. Councilor Blonna and the Board discussed, notated, and updated the list of goals and objectives. Given the amount of the content, Chair Winter would like to prioritize the goals. (8) STAFF COMMUNICATIONS Marco Island Regional Sand Management Plan - Mohamed Dabees Public Works Director, Justin Martin, P.E., briefly outlined the background of the Sand Dollar Island project and Sand Management plan, and he introduced Mohamed Dabees of Humiston and Moore. M. Dabees provided a Marco Island Regional Sand Management Plan presentation that summarized coordination between the City and County. The presentation included the management plan area, stakeholders, objectives, navigation plan management, management plan features, and maintenance programs. Chair Winter commented the Marco Island Regional Sand Management Plan has the support from the Waterways Advisory Committee. (9) CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION (10) PUBLIC COMMENT Bruce Donaldson - (Spinnaker Drive) Bruce Donaldson asked the Board to consider opening Clam Bay to the Gulf. Justin Martin, P.E. suggested to make this a future agenda item. Chair Winter requested Bruce Donaldson to send content for next Meeting's Agenda. (11) NEXT MEETING: CONFIRMATION & ATTENDANCE February 22, 2024 at 8:30 A.M. was confirmed to be the next Meeting. (12) PROPOSED AGENDA TOPICS FOR NEXT MEETING The Board agreed to the following items for the next Agenda: 1. Consolidated set of goals.
