. City of Margaret March 20, 2018 8:00 A.M. In attendance: Councilman Perry, Councilman Ray Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre, and Councilman Chapman Observing: Newly Appointed Councilman Justice Carter District 2 Absent: Mayor Howard Prayer: Mr. Barker Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre called meeting to order. Discussion Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre asked for Motion to approve minutes. Councilman Perry made the Motion to approve minutes from 2-13-18 Council Meeting. Councilman Ray seconded the Motion. The Motion passed. Councilman Ray made the Motion to approve the minutes of Special Meeting on 3-9-18. Councilman Perry seconded the Motion the Motion passed. Mr. Barker informed the Council of some potential land the City of Margaret might want to purchase, 87 acres at $2690/acre. Councilman Chapman and Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre agreed that most of the land could not be used by the City. Councilman Chapman made a Motion to table the land discussion until the Mayor is present to discuss his intentions for the land. Councilman Ray seconded the Motion. Motion passed. Charles Pendley asked the Council to approve a land plat to develop more houses in Woodland Ridge subdivision. Mr. Pendley told the Council everything is done but the asphalt. Land is located behind Clover St. Couniclman Chapman made the Motion to accept the land plat from Mr. Pendley. Councilman Perry seconded the Motion. The Motion passed. Mr. Barker informed the City currently has 3 road projects going on. 1) Hunter’s crossing and the next one would be between Sunrise or Abingdon Trace. Councilman Chapman is going to provide the Council with additional information concerning the Birmingham Regional Planning Commission. Councilman Perry informed the Council that the weight limit sign in Brookhaven has been ran over. Councilman Perry also made a suggestion that $1.00 franchise fee should be added to trash bid in order to help Police & Fire Department. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre introduced Councilman Justice Carter as the representative of District 2. Councilman Ray informed the Council that the principal at Margaret Elementary would like for the Youth Association to pay for the gym floor again. Councilman Chapman made the Motion to have floor done by Youth Association. Councilman Perry seconded the Motion. Motion passed. Mr. Johnson a resident on Euclid Trace notified the Council that no potholes have been patched on his street. Councilman Perry informed Mr. Johnson that contracts have been signed thru the County that will address Euclid Trace. Richard Mickens introduced himself and offered help to the Council. Freddie Parham told the Council that he was trying to be more involved with his community. Councilman Ray asked whether or not any update on new park. Councilman Ray also asked about update on new City Hall. Mr. Barker informed the Council that he has given the new City Hall plans to three potential contractors. And that the drawings would have to be redone. Councilman Chapman made the Motion to adjourn. Councilman Perry seconded the Motion. Motion passed.
